Una gita in barca organizzata da Tatewaki Kuno, in cui si erano "infiltrati" Ranma e tutti i suoi amici, si risolve in un naufragio in un'isola sperduta in mezzo all'oceano. Qui le ragazze cominciano a sparire una per volta, rapite dai misteriosi abitanti di un'isoletta vicina. A organizzare i rapimenti è il giovanissimo Toma, che in preda alla solitudine ha deciso di organizzare una specie di concorso fra donne, la cui vincitrice diverrà sua moglie. Ranma e tutti gli altri devono affrontare gli emissari di Toma, per riuscire a salvare le proprie ragazze.

Sembra una giornata normale nella palestra Tendo, fino al momento in cui arriva una graziosa ragazza cinese di nome Lychee in compagnia del suo elefante Jasmine. La ragazza è alla ricerca di un misterioso "rotolo della fortuna" affidata ad Happosai, ultimo documento in cui viene spiegata una non meglio definita "tecnica definitiva". Oltre a Lychee sulle tracce del rotolo però ci sono anche i valorosi guerrieri di Nekonron, guidati dal fortissimo principe Kirin. Tuttavia Kirin si invaghisce di Akane e la rapisce per convincerla a sposarlo. Ranma e i suoi amici partono per soccorrere la ragazza, e nel frattempo aiutare Lychee nel ritrovare la misteriosa pergamena.

La giovane Hitomi Kisugi (Sheila Tashikel nell'edizione italiana) gestisce il caffè Cat's Eye (Occhi di gatto) con la sorella maggiore Rui (Kelly) e quella minore Ai (Tati). Il bar è una copertura: Hitomi e le sue sorelle formano una celebre banda dedita al furto di opere d'arte, anch'essa chiamata Cat's Eye, che così firma i biglietti da visita lasciati sulla scena dei furti. Le sorelle Kisugi tuttavia non si dedicano al furto per lucro: rubano esclusivamente opere d'arte appartenute a Michael Heinz, famoso artista degli anni '40, che è il loro amato padre scomparso. Esse sperano di ricostruirne la collezione, che era stata loro sottratta dai nazisti, e individuare sufficienti indizi per poterlo ritrovare. L'investigatore incaricato delle indagini per la loro cattura, Toshio Utsumi (Matthew Hisman), è anche il fidanzato di Hitomi e non sospetta minimamente delle tre sorelle: scoprirà per caso e con sorpresa che la banda è composta da donne. Il rapporto di Hitomi con Toshio procura a Occhi di gatto complicazioni e vantaggi: Hitomi riesce a estorcere a Toshio informazioni riservate, grazie alle quali la banda riesce quasi sempre a farla franca, fuggendo con la refurtiva.

Un alleato comunica loro che in Giappone una ladra bionda ruba spacciandosi per la banda Occhi di gatto. Le tre sorelle decidono così di ripartire per il Giappone. La ladra, di nazionalità francese, dotata di grande forza, si mostra interessata ad un accordo fra lei e le sorelle Tashikel, ma queste rifiutano poiché loro non rubano per lucro, ma per ritrovare il loro padre. Tuttavia il suo comportamento nasconde qualcosa: si tratta infatti di un impostore alla ricerca dell'antica bottiglia affondata in un galeone, che interessa anche alle SS. 11: Per una bottiglia di vino

Questo tizio per caso ha scoperto l'identità di Occhi di gatto e ipnotizza Tati per ottenere i quadri che vuole. Tati infatti, subito dopo la visione del nuovo video ruba un quadro della collezione sua e delle sorelle e lo porta al ragazzo. Quando Sheila e Kelly la scoprono, il ragazzo ipnotizza Tati e le ordina di uccidere le sorelle. Fortunatamente le ragazze scoprono l'inganno e liberano la sorellina dalla trance ipnotica. 12: Mistero nella notte
In onda il: 1985-01-07 Durante una partita di baseball, Tati fa la conoscenza di un ragazzo più grande, studente di psicologia, che le manda settimanalmente video musicali. Questo tizio per caso ha scoperto l'identità di Occhi di gatto e ipnotizza Tati per ottenere i quadri che vuole. Tati infatti, subito dopo la visione del nuovo video ruba un quadro della collezione sua e delle sorelle e lo porta al ragazzo. Quando Sheila e Kelly la scoprono, il ragazzo ipnotizza Tati e le ordina di uccidere le sorelle. Fortunatamente le ragazze scoprono l'inganno e liberano la sorellina dalla trance ipnotica. A Occhi di gatto interessa un quadro Heinz appartenente ad un miliardario, ma al momento di rubarlo, non lo trovano. La figlia del ricco proprietario, infatti, è scappata da casa portando il quadro con sé per far soffrire il padre, a suo giudizio poco interessato a lei. Tati fa amicizia con la ragazza, che all'inizio è molto diffidente, e approfittando di un attimo di distrazione sostituisce il quadro vero con un falso. Inoltre le Gatte fanno arrestare una guardia del padre della ragazza che aveva a sua volta rubato il quadro. 13: Un'amica per Tati

Inoltre nella stessa gioielleria viene commesso un furto, in cui viene rubato, oltre alla spilla di Sheila, anche un gioiello di Heinz. Sheila si finge la figlia di un noto intagliatore di gemme, scomparso da poco, per intrufolarsi nel covo dei ladri e recuperare il gioiello del padre. Matthew, intervenuto in incognito per recuperare la spilla per la fidanzata, crea la confusione necessaria a Sheila per scappare col gioiello, dal momento che è stata scoperta e smascherata. 14: La spilla della discordia

Le Gatte vanno in montagna e annunciano di rubare una statua dalla cappella dell'albergo. La polizia, allora, decide di catturarle organizzando un falso matrimonio fra Matthew e Sheila. La ragazza si trova in difficoltà per il suo duplice ruolo, ma accetta solo perché gelosa di Alice, che si era offerta di fare da sposa, e doveva ovviamente baciare lo sposo. Kelly e Tati ad ogni modo riescono anche senza di lei nel loro intento, grazie soprattutto al sig. Marlows. 15: Matthew e Sheila sposi
In onda il: 1985-01-28 Le Gatte vanno in montagna e annunciano di rubare una statua dalla cappella dell'albergo. La polizia, allora, decide di catturarle organizzando un falso matrimonio fra Matthew e Sheila. La ragazza si trova in difficoltà per il suo duplice ruolo, ma accetta solo perché gelosa di Alice, che si era offerta di fare da sposa, e doveva ovviamente baciare lo sposo. Kelly e Tati ad ogni modo riescono anche senza di lei nel loro intento, grazie soprattutto al sig. Marlows. In onda il: 1985-02-04 16: Il rapimento di Sheila
Sheila viene chiusa in cassaforte dal proprietario del quadro che Occhi di gatto desidera rubare. Kelly e Tati riescono comunque a liberarla, insieme ad altre ragazze rapite dall'uomo, e riescono a rubare il loro quadro. 16: Il rapimento di Sheila

Un marinaio americano viene arrestato per furto, ma la vera colpevole è la sua ragazza, una modella che finge di amarlo solo per i suoi scopi. Quando le Gatte scoprono la verità e chiariscono tutto anche con la polizia, il marinaio continua ad illudersi che la sua amata modella è innocente. 17: Il profumo delle Hawaii

Al pianeta è stato dato il nuovo nome di Aqua a causa dello scioglimento della quasi totalità dei suoi ghiacci, cosa che gli ha anche portato il soprannome di "pianeta dell'acqua", mentre alla Terra è stato dato il nuovo nome di Man-Home. Akari Mizunashi è una giovane terrestre che si trasferisce su Aqua per imparare il mestiere di Undine, le gondoliere che fanno da guida turistica a Neo Venezia, riproduzione dell'antica Venezia terrestre ormai completamente sommersa. Nella "città sull'acqua", che non presenta ancora le innovazioni tecnologiche ormai parte della quotidianità sul pianeta madre, s'intrecciano le vicende di Akari, diventata apprendista all'Aria Company, e delle persone che incontra nel suo cammino verso il professionismo.
