La squadra di assalto Jiaolong, una delle forze speciali della marina cinese, riceve come compito altamente pericoloso quello di far evacuare i residenti cinesi da una repubblica nordafricana in cui è in corso un colpo di stato. la squadra mette in atto strategicamente un duplice tentativo di salvataggio ma finisce vittima di un'imboscata con pesanti perdite. Nel frattempo, il terrorista che ha causato lo sconquasso politico riesce a rubare le prove incriminanti contro di lui e il materiale utile per la produzione di armi nucleari. I componenti della Jiaolong dovranno allora adoperarsi per evitare il peggio.

Nel 1999 un'astronave aliena si schianta su un'isola della Terra. Temendo un'invasione aliena, l'astronave viene ricostruita per renderla ammiraglia di una flotta basata sulla nuova tecnologia acquisita. 10 anni dopo, nel giorno dell'inaugurazione della nuova astronave, ribattezzata Super Dimensional Fortress 1 Macross, un meccanismo di autodifesa della nave si attiva inaspettatamente, sparando una cannonata interplanetaria che distrugge alcune navi aliene in orbita intorno alla terra e attirando quindi l'attenzione degli Zentradi, un popolo dedito alla guerra. La flotta aliena attacca quindi la terra. Per allontanare il pericolo dal pianeta, Macross caricherà a bordo gli occupanti dell'isola (diventando quindi una città volante) e farà una piega spazio-temporale (un wormhole); l'astronave uscirà dalla piega per sbaglio nei pressi di Plutone ritrovandosi sola contro una gigantesca flotta di nemici.

Ricky, un ragazzo di città, viene dato in affido ad una famiglia di campagna della Nuova Zelanda. Si sente subito a casa con la nuova famiglia affidataria: la zia Bella, l'irascibile zio Hec e il cane Tupac. A seguito di un drammatico avvenimento, Ricky rischia di essere spedito in un'altra casa. Nella stanza di una decadente pensione di Parigi, Oscar Wilde trascorre gli ultimi giorni della sua vita e come in un vivido sogno i ricordi del suo passato riaffiorano, trasportandolo in altre epoche e in altri luoghi. Non era lui un tempo l’uomo più famoso di Londra? L’artista idolatrato da quella società che l’ha poi crocifisso? Oggi Wilde è un uomo malato, che ripensa con malinconia alle passioni che l’hanno travolto e con tenerezza al suo incessante bisogno di amare incondizionatamente. Rivive la sua fatale relazione con Lord Alfred Douglas e le sue fughe attraverso l’Europa, ma anche il grande rimorso nei confronti della moglie Constance per aver gettato lei e i loro figli nello scandalo. Ad accompagnarlo in questo ultimo viaggio solo l’amore e la dedizione di Robbie Ross, che gli resta accanto fino alla fine nel vano tentativo di salvarlo da se stesso e l’affetto del suo più caro amico Reggie Turner.

In un lontano futuro il mondo ha vissuto un periodo di grande felicità; si chiamava l'Età della Frontiera. Il genere umano si avventurava nel cosmo per espandere il proprio dominio oltre i confini della Terra. Con il procedere di questa avanzata, la Terra, il pianeta d'origine degli esseri umani, è stato dimenticato da tutti e ormai viene ricordato come un mito. In questo contesto ha inizio la nostra storia... Un gruppo di piratesse spaziali si spostano per la galassia a bordo della Sol Bianca, una nave spaziale molto avanzata conosciuta anche come la "Nave del Sole". Di questo gruppo fanno parte April, il leader del gruppo che vede la vita da pirata come la realizzazione del suo sogno di completa libertà; Jany, l'esperta di armi dall'aspetto mascolino; Jun, che sembra avere un legame particolare con la nave e Feb, che ha una predilezione per i tarocchi ed il buon vino. Mentre si trovano su un pianeta per recuperare una pistola antica, che è stata rubata ad April, trovano sul ponte della loro nave una ragazzina di nome Mayo, scappata di casa per andare alla ricerca dei genitori. Inizia così un lungo viaggio verso la Terra, in cui scopriranno informazioni importanti sui genitori della ragazza. Durante questa loro ricerca si troveranno a scontrarsi con la Terra Force, un gruppo militare che custodisce un enorme segreto sulla patria dell'umanità.
