1. Camel - The Snow Goose [1975] (2016) 176.4-24 Country: UK Genre: Progressive Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [176 Khz/24 bit] Time: 48:50 Full Size: 1.43 GB Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/65bbd433efc12
2. Jeff Beck (Remastered) - Blow By Blow (1975) 176.4-24 Country: UK Genre: Rock, Blues Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [176 Khz/24 bit] Time: 44:28 Full Size: 1.92 GB Blow by Blow typifies Jeff Beck's wonderfully unpredictable career. Released in 1975, Beck's fifth effort as a leader and first instrumental album was a marked departure from its more rock-based predecessors. Only composer/keyboardist Max Middleton returned from Beck's previous lineups. To Beck's credit, Blow by Blow features a tremendous supporting cast. Middleton's tasteful use of the Fender Rhodes, clavinet, and analog synthesizers leaves a soulful imprint. Drummer Richard Bailey is in equal measure supportive and propulsive as he deftly combines elements of jazz and funk with contemporary mixed meters. Much of the album's success is also attributable to the excellent material, which includes Middleton's two originals and two collaborations with Beck, a clever arrangement of Lennon and McCartney's "She's a Woman," and two originals by Stevie Wonder. George Martin's ingenious production and string arrangements rival his greatest work. Beck's versatile soloing and diverse tones are clearly the album's focus, and he proves to be an adept rhythm player. Blow by Blow is balanced by open-ended jamming and crisp ensemble interaction as it sidesteps the bombast that sank much of the jazz-rock fusion of the period. One of the album's unique qualities is the sense of fun that permeates the performances. On the opening "You Know What I Mean," Beck's stinging, blues-based soloing is full of imaginative shapes and daring leaps. On "Air Blower," elaborate layers of rhythm, duel lead, and solo guitars find their place in the mix. Propelled by the galvanic rhythm section, Beck slashes his way into "Scatterbrain," where a dizzying keyboard and guitar line leads to more energetic soloing from Beck and Middleton. In Stevie Wonder's ballad "Cause We've Ended as Lovers," Beck variously coaxes and unleashes sighs and screams from his guitar in an aching dedication to Roy Buchanan. Middleton's aptly titled "Freeway Jam" best exemplifies the album's loose and fun-loving qualities, with Beck again riding high atop the rhythm section's wave. As with "Scatterbrain," Martin's impeccable string arrangements enhance the subtle harmonic shades of the closing "Diamond Dust." Blow by Blow signaled a new creative peak for Beck, and it proved to be a difficult act to follow. It is a testament to the power of effective collaboration and, given the circumstances, Beck clearly rose to the occasion. In addition to being a personal milestone, Blow by Blow ranks as one of the premiere recordings in the canon of instrumental rock music. © Mark Kirschenmann /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzJ2WA-ubMM&list=OLAK5uy_m4RIkO4KeNSHtAFD13dMT_ydhSJVb73Bc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6k6ec_sd2Mc&list=OLAK5uy_m4RIkO4KeNSHtAFD13dMT_ydhSJVb73Bc Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/63e7cdee4de36
3. The Ducks - High Flyin (Live) (2023) 176.4-24 Country: USA Genre: Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [176 Khz/24 bit] Time: 01:46:59 Full Size: 3.48 GB This is the first official release by The Ducks - a short lived group that Neil played with in 1977. The Ducks featured NeilYoung (guitar, harmonica and vocals), Bob Mosley (bass and vocals), Jeff Blackburn (guitar and vocals) and Johnny Craviotto (drums). Mosley was an original member of Bay Area band Moby Grape; Blackburn had previously fronted his own band and co-wrote with Neil the classic track "My My Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)". The band played several shows in Santa Cruz, CA and other California venues during two months in 1977, and this 3-LP, 2 CD, 25-track live album features highlights from those shows. The set lists were very democratic, with each member of the band taking the lead in turn. 5 Neil Young songs are showcased, including a rocking version of "Mr. Soul", plus beautiful renditions of "Are You Ready For The Country", "Little Wing", "Sail Away" and "Human Highway". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pjIfS7pKOI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lISgIDgWL3o Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/643996227c2b6
4. Blood, Sweat & Tears - Blood, Sweat & Tears (Expanded Edition) (2022) 176.4-24 Country: USA Genre: Jazz Rock, Psychedelic Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [176 Khz/24 bit] Time: 01:09:23 Full Size: 2.99 GB The difference between Blood, Sweat & Tears and the group's preceding long-player, Child Is Father to the Man, is the difference between a monumental seller and a record that was "merely" a huge critical success. Arguably, the Blood, Sweat & Tears that made this self-titled second album -- consisting of five of the eight original members and four newcomers, including singer David Clayton-Thomas -- was really a different group from the one that made Child Is Father to the Man, which was done largely under the direction of singer/songwriter/keyboard player/arranger Al Kooper. They had certain similarities to the original: the musical mixture of classical, jazz, and rock elements was still apparent, and the interplay between the horns and the keyboards was still occurring, even if those instruments were being played by different people. Kooper was even still present as an arranger on two tracks, notably the initial hit "You've Made Me So Very Happy." But the second BS&T, under the aegis of producer James William Guercio, was a less adventurous unit, and, as fronted by Clayton-Thomas, a far more commercial one. Not only did the album contain three songs that neared the top of the charts as singles -- "Happy," "Spinning Wheel," and "And When I Die" -- but the whole album, including an arrangement of "God Bless the Child" and the radical rewrite of Traffic's "Smiling Phases," was wonderfully accessible. It was a repertoire to build a career on, and Blood, Sweat & Tears did exactly that, although they never came close to equaling this album. © William Ruhlmann & Bruce Eder /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFEewD4EVwU&list=OLAK5uy_kpIULUpIpqShx9-3B0qDFcseb2cUyGCpM&index=7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ltXpCYDXKg&list=OLAK5uy_kpIULUpIpqShx9-3B0qDFcseb2cUyGCpM&index=2 Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/64077afab39cb
5. Alan Parsons Project - The Turn Of A Friendly Card 1980 (2015) 176.4-24 Country: UK Genre: Progressive rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [176 Khz/24 bit] Time: 40:42 Full Size: 1.73 GB With two of the Alan Parsons Project's best songs, the lovely ballad "Time" and the wavy-sounding "Games People Play," The Turn of a Friendly Card remains one of this group's most enjoyable albums. Parsons' idea, the subject of the album's six tracks, centers around the age-old temptation of gambling and its stranglehold on the human psyche. On "Games People Play," vocalist Lenny Zakatek sounds compelling and focused, giving the song a seriousness that aids in realization of the album's concept. With "Time," it is Eric Woolfson who carries this luxurious-sounding ode to life's passing to a place above and beyond any of this band's other slower material. The breakdown of human willpower and our greedy tendencies are highlighted in the last track, entitled "The Turn of a Friendly Card," which is broken into five separate parts. "Snake Eyes," sung by Chris Rainbow, is the most compelling of the five pieces, and ties together the whole of the recording. As in every Parsons album, an instrumental is included, in this case an interesting number aptly titled "The Gold Bug." Like most of the band's instrumentals, its flow and rhythm simulate the overall tempo and concept of the album, acting as a welcome interlude. Although short, The Turn of a Friendly Card is to the point and doesn't let down when it comes to carrying out its idea. © Mike DeGagne /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyDw_zbOZOk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhRzORqNa0E Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/4e74209b-cd11-11eb-a971-0cc47ac4f47e
