Un dolce racconto che ha come protagonisti due ragazzi molto diversi. Da un lato Kai, figlio di una prostituta, che sin da bambino è cresciuto suonando il pianoforte abbandonato nel bosco vicino casa sua; dall'altro Shūhei che, nato e maturato in una prestigiosa famiglia di pianisti, ha praticamente avuto come unico amico un pianoforte. La loro comune passione porterà i percorsi di vita dei due ragazzi ad intrecciarsi.
