Ottobre 1988, nella cittadina di Derry. Il piccolo Georgie esce di casa nella pioggia per far navigare la barchetta di carta preparatagli dal fratello maggiore Billy, costretto a casa dall'influenza. La barchetta scorre per i rivoli lungo i marciapiedi, ma finisce in uno scolo che conduce alla rete fognaria. Georgie, contrariato, si china a guardare nella feritoia e incontra lo sguardo del bizzarro clown che abita nelle fogne, Pennywise. Per quanto strano sia trovare un clown in quel luogo, Georgie si intrattiene con lui sin quando il clown non lo addenta e lo cattura portandolo giù con sé. Giugno 1989. A Derry vige il coprifuoco a causa delle numerose sparizioni di persone, soprattutto bambini.

Due anni dopo la fine della quarta grande guerra ninja, per motivi sconosciuti la luna si sta avvicinando sempre più alla terra. Nel mentre, Naruto Uzumaki, grazie al valore dimostrato nella guerra, è diventato celebre e ammirato da numerose ragazze e ninja di Konoha e di tutto il mondo. Hinata Hyuga, da sempre innamorata di lui, tenta di dichiararsi donandogli una sciarpa rossa cucita da lei stessa Hinata viene rapita dal misterioso e potente Toneri Otsutsuki, discendente di Hamura Otsutsuki, giunto a Konoha unicamente per rapirla. Contrastato nell'impresa da Naruto, Toneri rapisce la sorella minore di Hinata, Hanabi, sparendo subito dopo. Dopo un summit dei cinque kage, il sesto Hokage Kakashi Hatake ordina a Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, Sai e Shikamaru di partire per una missione per salvare Hanabi e neutralizzare Toneri Otsutsuki, sospettato di essere l'artefice del piano della caduta della luna e della conseguente distruzione della terra.

Una satira delle elezioni. I membri della PETA costringono la squadra di football della scuola elementare a cambiare la mascotte, una mucca, così viene proposta una lista di alternative. Kyle, per protesta, decide di convincere tutti i ragazzi a votare per una mascotte di sua invenzione: una peretta gigante. Cartman però gli copia l'idea e sostituisce la peretta con un panino alla merda. Presto tutta la scuola deve scegliere se essere rappresentata dalla peretta gigante o dal panino alla merda. La lotta finisce per estendersi a tutta la città e arriva persino in televisione. Solo Stan trova questa votazione ridicola e sceglie di astenersi (anche perché nota come alla gente in realtà importi più che Stan voti per la loro mascotte piuttosto che voti semplicemente), così in città arriva il rapper Puff Daddy per convincerlo a votare. La storia si svolge nella stazione termale Konohana, localizzata in un luogo che si trova a metà fra il nostro mondo e il mondo ultraterreno, e dove molti spiriti, divinità, anime di defunti, mostri si recano in visita. Le protagoniste sono degli spiriti volpe che si trasformano in ragazze e si prendono cura dei clienti della locanda, oltre a svolgere tutte le attività collegate a questa "missione". La giovane kitsune Yuzu viene assunta come nuova apprendista. Inizialmente la piccola volpe trova non poche difficoltà ad ambientarsi, si dimostra imbranata e incapace di compiere il suo lavoro, e viene ripresa più volte dalla sua compagna di stanza Satsuki; ma grazie alle ramanzine delle colleghe e alle avventure che vive attraverso i clienti, Yuzu matura fino a diventare un perno della locanda Konohana. Fra kimono e petali di ciliegio, anche l'amore troverà il suo spazio.

As Satsuki deals with her sister's erratic behavior, Yuzu becomes worried over when Satsuki will inevitably leave the Konohanatei to be a priestess. At the behest of one of the guests, Satsuki is asked to perform a kagura dance alongside Hiiragi, leading her to feel frustrated when comparing herself to her.
