C'è però una cosa che lo tormenta: nonostante la sua personalità gentile, ha ereditato da suo padre uno sguardo intimidatorio, che spesso porta i suoi compagni di classe a fraintenderlo. Ma tutto questo sta per cambiare. Il primo giorno di scuola, accidentalmente, Ryuuji si scontra con la creatura più pericolosa della scuola - Taiga Aisaka, conosciuta anche come Tigre Tascabile.
