Diventato adulto una notte il Creatore gli parla in sogno annunciandogli la fine dell'umanità con un grande diluvio e instillando in lui lo stimolo a costruire un'arca in cui stipare tutti gli animali assieme alla moglie, i figli e le mogli dei figli. Aiutato dai giganti (antica stirpe che popola la Terra, originariamente scesa dal cielo per pietà verso gli uomini) costruisce l'arca e la difende dagli attacchi portati dal resto degli uomini quando è ormai chiaro che la fine è vicina. Tentato a sua volta da un eccesso di religiosità e adesione alla furia divina rischia di uccidere la propria discendenza e sconfigge la propria nemesi infiltratasi nell'arca fino a sopravvivere e ritrovare la Terra.
