From the beginning, the power-trio's influences were set: heavy metal from the '70s and '80s, but specifically the likes of Loudness, W.A.S.P., Tokyo Blade, Glenn Tipton, Ritchie Blackmore, Glenn Hughes, and Annihilator and especially classic French heavy metal like ADX, Malediction, Sortilège and Warning. Synthwave and New Wave, both old and new, also musically influence ANIMALIZE. However, it is the band's love of movies which arguably influences ANIMALIZE's outlook the most. For them, a visual identity and atmosphere - whether in their visual aesthetic, be it artwork or onstage, or especially their upcoming videos - is of the utmost importance. Film also feeds their lyrics, quite often. The band states that such movies as Evil Dead, Mad Max, Pet Sematary, Masters of the Universe, and Terminator are among their most beloved. Armed with these noble touchstones, ANIMALIZE released their debut EP, Tapes from the Crypt, in 2020. A swift and solid 20 minutes, the EP displayed massive promise from ANIMALIZE, which they've handily surpassed with their full-length debut, Meat We're Made Of. Graced again with an unforgettable cover, Meat We're Made Of is a breathless and breathtaking statement. Its sound races all over the place, from cruising speed to tricky detours to headbanging mid-tempos, with an organized sort of mayhem, as explosive solos and dramatic vocal layering turn these nine beguiling songs into impossible anthems. Meat Loaf and Murphy met while performing with the Detroit cast of Hair. The album was re-released several times with a different track listing under the title Featuring Stoney and Meat Loaf. Firstly in 1978 and 1979 on the Prodigal label (PDL 2010) and again in 1986 on Tamla Motown (ZL 72217). The album contained most (but not all) of the tracks on the original album; "(I'd Love to Be) As Heavy as Jesus" and "Game of Love" were not on the reissue. He contributed a couple of songs to its 1995 sequel, Welcome to the Neighborhood, but by the time Meat Loaf was ready to do a third installment of Bat Out of Hell, Steinman opted out for unspecified reasons, leaving the singer to use five previously released Steinman songs as produced by Desmond Child -- a satisfactory compromise that at the very least illustrated how Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" should've been on a Bat Out of Hell album. Through a series of circumstances, Meat Loaf and Steinman wound up reuniting for 2016's Braver Than We Are, which was produced by Paul Crook, just like its 2012 predecessor Hell in a Handbasket. While the record bears some slick modern hallmarks, it is very much a throwback, evoking memories of Todd Rundgren's overblown Springsteen parody of 1977 as well as the earnest re-creation of 1993. Steinman's songs are suitably theatrical -- the opening "Who Needs the Young" feels like it's a Broadway reject -- and while he slyly winks at his past with "Going All the Way Is Just the Start (A Song in 6 Movements)," a song that features a cameo from "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" singer Ellen Foley, he also seems unaware that Ratt also got to the title "Loving You Is a Dirty Job" in 1990 (albiet after Steinman whose composition first appeared as a Bonnie Tyler single in 1985). That isolation is ultimately a benefit because Braver Than We Are feels caught between nostalgia and indifference, an album so old-fashioned it seems happily ignorant of modernity even when it threads EDM rhythms and metallic guitars into "More." The other way it's possible to tell this album was released in 2016 is Meat Loaf's performance. Thin and sometimes breathless, he's no longer the colossus of the '70s, but the diminishment of his range humanizes him and adds a bittersweet tinge to this reunion. Through Meat Loaf's voice alone, mortality becomes evident and it makes this third reunion with Steinman all the sweeter. Descrizione Super Meat Boy è un platform duro come il granito dove si gioca nei panni di un cubo di carne animato che cerca di salvare la sua ragazza (che sia dia il caso sia fatta di bende) da un malvagio feto in un barattolo con indosso uno smoking. Il nostro eroe di carne salterà sulle pareti, sorvolando mari di seghe circolari ronzanti, attraverso fatiscenti grotte e bacini di vecchi aghi. Sacrificando la propria vita per salvare la sua damigella in pericolo. Super Meat Boy riporta la difficoltà vecchia scuola dei classici titoli NES come Mega Man 2, Ghosts 'n Goblins e Super Mario Bros. 2 (versione giapponese) e di quelle strutture ne ricava l'essenza, tagliando fuori inutili aggiunte e plasmando una formula piattaformica pura e diretta, spasmodica e riflessiva. Aumentando progressivamente il livello di sfida da difficile a annienta-spirito, SMB porta il nostro eroe Meat Boy attraverso ospedali infestati, fabbriche di sale e persino all'inferno stesso. E se 300 e più livelli in giocatore singolo non fossero abbastanza, SMB propone anche epiche sfide contro i Boss, un editor di livelli e tonnellate di segreti sbloccabili, Warp Zones in stile rétro e personaggi nascosti.
