Ne La preda e i cacciatori una giovane e avvenente fanciulla tenta di sfuggire in canoa ai suoi tenaci inseguitori e nel successivo episodio, La fionda, la mira infallibile del piccolo Huck, il figlio dei domestici neri del signor Fitzpatrick, si rivelerà meno precisa del previsto dando il via ad una imprevedile concatenazione di eventi. Il pueblo della morte, episodio che dà il titolo all'albo, vede protagonisti dei cacciatori di tesori così temerari da addentrarsi nel pueblo del titolo sul quale sembra gravare una misteriosa maledizione. La pattuglia del successivo episodio di Larry Yuma è quella che, inspiegabilmente, sembra diversa da quella incontrata solo poche ore prima dal protagonista. E di misteriose sparizioni parla anche il successivo I rapinatori scomparsi; toccherà a Larry scoprire il mistero. In Mescaleros! saranno gli indiani a dare del filo da torcere al protagonista ma la responsabilità come sempre ricade sui visi pallidi, pronti a vendere ai pellerossa Mescaleros del whisky adulterato. Scopriremo poi come la vita possa essere difficile anche per Un fotografo nel West specialmente se pronto a scattare fotografie alle persone sbagliate. Chiude la selezione di avventure ospitate su quest'albo Lo sperone, ovvero la prova decisiva per poter incastrare un'apparentemente rispettabile persona di omicidio.
