Pennebaker based around the show clearly demonstrated fans' intense commitment to a near-decade-old band most mainstream critics continued to stupidly portray as a flash-in-the-pan synth pop effort. This start-to-final-encore record of the concert showcases a band perfectly able to carry its music from studio to stage as well as any other combo worth its salt should be able to do. Understandably focused on Music for the Masses material, the album shows Depeche experimenting with alternate arrangements at various points for live performance; big numbers like "Never Let Me Down Again," "Stripped," and "Blasphemous Rumors" pack even more of a wallop here. Slower numbers and more than a couple of ballads help to vary the hit-packed set, including a fine "Somebody" and "The Things You Said" combination sung by Martin Gore. "Pleasure Little Treasure," on record an okay B-side, becomes a monster rocker live, the type of unexpected surprise one could expect from a solid band no matter what the music. März 1988 trat die britische Synthiepop-Gruppe Depeche Mode zum ersten und letzten Mal in der DDR auf. Fans gaben Unsummen aus, nur um in der Ostberliner Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle dabei zu sein. Deklariert als Geburtstagskonzert der FDJ, kosteten die Eintrittskarten damals 15 Ostmark. Dass sich dahinter ein Konzert der angesagtesten Band dieser Zeit verbarg, sprach sich schnell herum. Die FDJ-Führung verbuchte die Veranstaltung damals als Erfolg ihrer politischen Arbeit. Hinter dem Eisernen Vorhang wird Depeche Mode zum Symbol für Freiheit, zur Projektionsfläche der DDR-Jugend für ihre Sehnsüchte und zu einem Vorbild bei der Suche nach einer eigenen Identität. Die Begeisterung für Depeche Mode ist in Ostdeutschland einzigartig. Rund 70 Fanclubs etablieren sich in den späten 80er Jahren zwischen Rostock und Zwickau. Das Autorenteam Heike Sittner und Nils Werner geht auf Spurensuche, wie es zu dieser Faszination in der DDR gekommen ist und welche Parallelen es zwischen den jungen Musikern aus dem ostenglischen Basildon und der sozialistischen Jugend gibt. So wird das legendäre Konzert in Ostberlin mit den damaligen Veranstaltern, Musikexperten und Fans minuziös nachgezeichnet. Ebenso die Erfolgsgeschichte von Depeche Mode, ihre Anfänge in einem englischen Arbeiterort, ihre Schaffenszeit in Westberlin, ihre Einstellung zum Ostblock und ihr besonderes Verhältnis zu den Fans aus der DDR. Descrizione Super Meat Boy è un platform duro come il granito dove si gioca nei panni di un cubo di carne animato che cerca di salvare la sua ragazza (che sia dia il caso sia fatta di bende) da un malvagio feto in un barattolo con indosso uno smoking. Il nostro eroe di carne salterà sulle pareti, sorvolando mari di seghe circolari ronzanti, attraverso fatiscenti grotte e bacini di vecchi aghi. Sacrificando la propria vita per salvare la sua damigella in pericolo. Super Meat Boy riporta la difficoltà vecchia scuola dei classici titoli NES come Mega Man 2, Ghosts 'n Goblins e Super Mario Bros. 2 (versione giapponese) e di quelle strutture ne ricava l'essenza, tagliando fuori inutili aggiunte e plasmando una formula piattaformica pura e diretta, spasmodica e riflessiva. Aumentando progressivamente il livello di sfida da difficile a annienta-spirito, SMB porta il nostro eroe Meat Boy attraverso ospedali infestati, fabbriche di sale e persino all'inferno stesso. Descrizione Ora che Jesse e la gang hanno sconfitto la Wither Storm, salvato il mondo e sono diventati eroi super famosi, la vita si è fatta un tantino più... complicata.
