Gohan e Videl si sono sposati e Goku è costretto da Chichi a lavorare nei campi per guadagnare denaro, in quanto oramai il patrimonio dello Stregone del Toro è quasi esaurito, tuttavia grazie a Mr. Satan che gli consegna una ricompensa in denaro ricevuta dallo stato per la salvezza del mondo, Goku può smettere di lavorare e ricominciare ad allenarsi, mentre Vegeta passa un po' di tempo in vacanza con la famiglia, per poi anch'esso tornare ad allenarsi con l'obiettivo di superare il suo rivale Kakaroth.
