No wonder the boys' long-awaited return to the stage was greeted by a chorus of ecstatic shrieking from their still mourning fan base. You can tell by listening to these bold, passionate performances and the near-hysterical reaction they provoke from the crowd that an important, lasting bond had been created between this band and their legion of fans; a rare achievement in times when there's a new next big thing arriving every ten minutes (and then disappearing ten minutes later). Great songs never age and Terrorvision seldom did anything other than write and record great songs, a skill best exemplified by the frankly heroic 'Oblivion', arguably one of the very best radio-friendly rock songs to breach the UK charts over the last 20 years and a thunderous sonic thumbs-up to the power of backing vocals that go bop-bah-hoo-wop and the exceedingly tricky art of the contagious, sprightly, 100 per cent solid sunshine rock riff. The Rockpalast performance of June 21, 1998 at the Loreley is a significant example of the first international phase of success. It was Tito & Tarantula's third concert in Germany and it shows that their musical reputation did not crumble to dust in broad daylight at all. At that time the violinist and mandolin player Lyn Bertles gave the band a more folkloristic touch. That and the simmering mixture of blues, rock and Americana with Mexican influences put the German crowd under the same spell as the shady spectators in the famous movie scene. In the following years, Tito & Tarantula released albums in changing formations and touring regularly on our continent as well. The included bonus concert recorded in 2002 in Sarajevo certainly is one of the more unusual gigs in a musician's life. Originally intended to be a club show, the band attracted a far larger crowd than expected. Content includes Steven Wilson 5.1 mixes of some (not all) album tracks, hi-res flat transfers of all three albums and more.
