Un dio si inginocchia davanti a Takumi Kayano chiedendo scusa. A quanto pare è stato ucciso per sbaglio e non può neanche rinascere. Gli viene offerta in alternativa la possibilità di vivere in un altro mondo. Ma il dio sbaglia nuovamente mandandolo in una pericolosa foresta, dove incontra due bimbi soli. Takumi non può certo far finta di niente e lasciarli lì, così decide di prendersene cura.
