Trama Joker fugge dall'Arkham Asylum e dopo aver preso possesso di un Luna park abbandonato si presenta a casa dell'ispettore Gordon. Qui spara a Barbara Gordon (Ex Batgirl), la figlia adottiva di James Gordon, fatto che la costringerà su una sedia a rotelle, e rapisce Gordon per dimostrare la sua Tesi. Questo spinge Batman ad intervenire, e ad iniziare le ricerche per salvare il commissario Gordon. La "Tesi" del Joker è quello di dimostrare che anche la vita delle persone più normali, come ad esempio Gordon, può prendere una svolta drammatica a causa di una "giornata andata storta".
