Descrizione In poche ore, la regione del fiume Nayati è improvvisamente precipitata nel caos. Centinaia di migliaia sono le testimonianze di epigrafi che la Grecia antica ci ha lasciato. Fra queste, un posto di rilievo occupano le epigrafi di carattere sepolcrale, e, fra queste, le epigrafi in versi. Commissionate soprattutto dalle famiglie più colte e facoltose, queste testimonianze aprono un orizzonte tutto da scoprire sulla civiltà antica: greca, ma non solo, visto che in lingua ellenica, sentita come la lingua della cultura e della poesia, sono realizzati anche epitaffi per uomini e donne romani, italici, o di altre aree del mondo antico. Sfogliare le "pagine di pietra" di questo affascinante repertorio mette di fronte il lettore a migliaia di individui: uomini e donne, bambini e anziani, che vissero e morirono nelle più diverse situazioni.
