Suckerpunch (official music video) Dutch symphonic metallers DELAIN have spent the last year celebrating their tenth anniversary - from the release of their fifth full-length album, "Moonbathers", and an anniversary edition of their debut disc, "Lucidity", to extensive headline tours across Europe and North America to gracing some of the world's biggest festival stages - and are about to cap it off with the release of their first-ever live DVD/Blu-ray package. Due on October 27, "A Decade Of Delain: Live At Paradiso" was filmed at a sold-out gig at Amsterdam's legendary Paradiso on December 10, 2016. DELAIN was joined on stage throughout the evening by Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Liv Kristine, Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY), and many other special guests and collaborators. The setlist for the evening showcased songs spanning DELAIN's entire decade-long existence, including everything from the sing-along singles to cuts from the band's vault that are rarely played live. The performances were the first-ever rock concerts for an audience in the stone Roman amphitheatre, and, for two nights only, the 2,600-strong crowd stood exactly where gladiators would have fought in the first century AD. 'David Gilmour Live At Pompeii' is an audio-visual spectacle, featuring lasers, pyrotechnics and a huge circular screen on which specially-created films complement selected songs, but paramount above all is the astonishing music and stellar performances. The show includes songs from throughout David's career, solo and with Pink Floyd, including 'One Of These Days', the only song that was also performed at the band's 1971 show, and six songs from 'Rattle that Lock', as well as two from 2006's 'On An Island'. Both concerts also saw very special performances of 'The Great Gig In The Sky' from 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', which David rarely plays as a solo artist. 'Live at Pompeii', which is now available on 2-CD, Blu-ray, 2-DVD or deluxe Blu-ray box, includes highlights from the concert performances of both shows, filmed in 4K by director Gavin Elder. 'David Gilmour Live At Pompeii' shows an artist at the top of his artistic game, performing incredible material with his world-class band, in a unique setting, on one very special occasion. Having been her first record to feature a full orchestra on select songs, she has a piano and a 12-piece band/chamber orchestra at her disposal for the show. Standout moments include the orchestral hip-hop tune "Small Bill$," which is even more fun live, the dramatic "Seller of Flowers," and closer "Samson," the nimble ballad from 2002's Songs, which she (charmingly) has to restart here. The concert also includes the crowd-pleaser "You've Got the Time," her theme to the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, and "New Year," which was a bonus track on an expanded edition of Remember Us to Life. With all of the newer material, fans of 2010's Live in London won't find too much overlap. In British filmmaker Nick Broomfield's Whitney 'Can I Be Me', he paints a poignant picture but struggles to get to the heart of his subject. This is ironic, as the title of the film is a reference to Whitney Houston's own assertion that she commits a lot of time to being what other people want her to be: "Can I be me, now?" At one point, an interviewer asks how she wants to be remembered. In her typically disarming style - a deft marriage of thoughtful authenticity and practised evasion - Houston retorts that it surely doesn't matter as people will just remember her as they want to. It's an insightful moment into her personality but also acts as a pointed critique of a film attempting to piece together a portrait from the suppositions and recollections of a variety of friends and colleagues. It documents the last stop of the tour in support of the "Wanted" album and that evening they played in their hometown of Freising, Bavaria in October 2015. The show is an elaborately assembled combination of elements of a rock concert, a multimedia event and a play. This was the first and only time that the mammoth-production was brought to the stage. In addition to the musicians themselves the cast comprised around fifty actors and extras.The "A New Dawn" blue-ray and DVD versions comprise identical two-hour-long stereo and surround mixes of the concert, each with audio tracks in both English as well as German. For the English version the lines from the German-language live show were dubbed by the narrator and the actors.
