Un tempo, il mondo era minacciato da una creatura malvagia conosciuta come il "Drago Maligno". Tuttavia, un eroe riuscì a sconfiggere il drago, salvando così il mondo. Sono passati più di 200 anni da quell'evento. Nella città labirinto di Maartat vive un uomo chiamato Laust, conosciuto da tutti come "l'inutile". Laust è un guaritore, ma a causa della sua presunta mancanza di capacità, viene disprezzato, sfruttato e infine abbandonato dagli altri avventurieri. Questo ciclo di abbandono e rifiuto si ripete continuamente nella sua vita. Un giorno, davanti a Laust appare una ragazza di nome Narcena, una guerriera esperta nelle arti marziali. Narcena invita Laust, appena espulso da un altro gruppo, a unirsi a lei per formare un nuovo team: "Fratello, vuoi fare squadra con me?". Così inizia la loro avventura insieme.

Reborn converses with Tsuna and is able to awaken him by disclosing that Yuni is using her life force to revive the Arcobaleno and will die when the rite is complete. Byakuran mocks Tsuna about his unlucky life and attempts to kill him once more but is saved by Lancia's ring. Byakuran crushes Tsuna into unconsciousness. He then discovers Yuni was attempting to revive the Arcobaleno to restore the balance of the 7^3 and to assist in the defeat of Byakuran. Reborn converses with Tsuna and is able to awaken him by disclosing that Yuni is using her life force to revive the Arcobaleno and will die when the rite is complete. Byakuran mocks Tsuna about his unlucky life and attempts to kill him once more but is saved by Lancia's ring. Tsuna realizes his friends have been with him throughout all the bad times and regains the resolve to fight resulting in Vongola Primo and his guardians to appear from their respective rings.
