Grazie alla esperienza acquisita nelle precedenti stagioni, Souma è riuscito finalmente ad ottenere il primo seggio del consiglio dei dieci eletti della Totsuki. Sta per iniziare il “Blue”, un torneo gastronomico mondiale dedicato ai giovani chef in cerca di fama, lo stesso alla quale avrebbe dovuto partecipare il padre di Yukihira. Tuttavia, quest’anno il regolamento ha subito dei cambiamenti, introducendo dei temi fuori dall’ordinario.

Il trentaduenne Kafka Hibino fa parte di una squadra speciale addetta allo smantellamento dei resti dei Kaiju, che vengono uccisi dalle forze di difesa. Kafka è amico d'infanzia di Mina Ashiro. I due, tempo addietro, si promisero di entrare nel corpo delle forze di difesa e proteggere il Giappone dai Kaiju. Hibino non riuscì a superare l'esame di ammissione, abbandonando i suoi sogni. Mina, mantenendo la promessa, divenne invece il capitano della III divisione del corpo delle forze di difesa. Un giorno, Kafka affronta uno strano Kaiju con il quale si fonde. Da quel momento il giovane acquisisce la capacità di trasformarsi nel Kaiju numero 8, ottenendo particolari abilità.

TRAMA
Dopo la devastazione della guerra nucleare, sotto il severo comando dell'Impero del Mondo, le persone vivono vite di depravazione e depressione. TRAMA
Hori può sembrare un'ordinaria adolescente, ma in realtà è una persona completamente diversa dopo la scuola: in assenza dei suoi genitori lavoro-dipendenti, Hori è stata come una madre per il fratellino sin da quando era piccola. Tra il prendersi cura del fratello, sfamare entrambi, e sbrigare le faccende domestiche, non ha molto tempo per una normale vita da adolescente. Un giorno incontra qualcun altro che non è quello che sembra a scuola: un tranquillo, occhialuto ragazzo di nome Miyamura. Le aveva dato l'impressione di un topo di biblioteca, e forse di un otaku, ma Hori non poteva sbagliarsi di più. Al di fuori della scuola, Miyamura è un ragazzo socievole con una marea di piercing e per giunta non è nemmeno molto bravo nello studio. Ora i due hanno qualcuno con cui condividere le due metà celate della propria vita!
