Trama:
La vera storia di Franz Streitberger, corriere in motocicletta delle forze armate austriache che fu incorporato nella Wehrmacht dopo l’annessione dell’Austria alla Germania nazista avvenuta il 12 marzo 1938. All’inizio della Seconda guerra mondiale, il giovane soldato introverso raccoglie un cucciolo di volpe ferito e se ne prende cura come se fosse un figlio, portandolo con sé quando viene trasferito nella Francia occupata…
