1. Boz Scaggs - Come On Home [1997] (2021) 96-24 Country: USA Genre: Rock, Pop, Blue-eyed soul Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 59:34 Full Size: 1.3 GB On this prime collection of R&B and blues songs and influences from Boz Scaggs' youth -- and four new yet classic-sounding self-penned originals -- the blue-eyed soulman eschews the slick production values of his pop chart-toppers such as "Lido" and "Lowdown," instead getting way down and his hands dirty with the honest blood, sweat, and tears of the real down-home blues. Packing in tow drummer Jim Keltner, guitarist Fred Tackett (from Little Feat), and slow-burning, soulful horn arrangements by Willie Mitchell, one of the founding fathers of Memphis soul (and composer of Come On Home's title track), Scaggs' covers of songs originally composed and performed by such legends as Jimmy Reed ("Found Love"), T-Bone Walker (the legendary "T-Bone Shuffle"), Sonny Boy Williamson ("Early in the Morning") and Bobby "Blue" Bland (the thunderous "Ask Me 'Bout Nothing (But the Blues)"), along with "It All Went Down the Drain" (Earl King), and the smoldering "Your Good Thing (Is About to End)" (David Porter with Isaac Hayes), are absolutely impossible to resist. Come On Home is a genuine musical treasure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYNtNs-q37Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOe9K6_7_B8 Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/672b936984810
2. Fruitcake - One More Slice [1997] (2024) 44.1-24 Country: Norway Genre: Progressive Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/24 bit] Time: 57:41 Full Size: 647.36 MB Fruitcake is the Norwegian progressive group led by Paul Sovik, who drums, composes most of the songs and sings. On the previous album 'Room For Suprises' the band finally made a fully professional album full of slow paced melancholy organ-driven prog. It's a personal favorite of mine. On 'One More Slice' the band sounds significantly more 'heavy prog' with numerous axe-man lead guitar passages and riffs by Robert Hauge. The compositions are faster, intenser, more varied and way less moody and lonely sounding. The organ chords and lead synth are less dominant, but still present in classic Fruitcake fashion; retro (or dated in a charming way) and slightly dopey. As if they never heard another song than Genesis' 'Watcher of the Skies'. It makes them stand out and instantly recognizable. I described Fruitcake earlier as progressive rock's favorite slug, but on this album the band is actually quite versatile within its own idiom. Notably, on 'One More Slice' the band also has some really dark organ/guitar riffs, that almost remind of Red-era King Crimson. Fruitcake has always had as its main weakness the dopey and occasional weak vocals of Paul Sovik. And though is voice grew significantly over the years, he also tried to tackle harder vocal lines - which in turn leads to equally average results. In the slower organ-based compositions of 'Room For Suprises' his performance was actually way more charming than in this heavy prog climate. Still, I would warmly recommend this record swarming of full bodied organ/guitar potency and beautiful harmonies and melodies. The recording sound is strong as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x4prEce0t8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkDYpf2S0Oo Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/67054b02f34cd

4. blink-182 - Dude Ranch [1997] (2021) 96-24 Country: USA Genre: Alternative rock, Punk rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 43:46 Full Size: 1.02 GB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-brR6id8B0&list=OLAK5uy_nnIlbdcZ5m_PS03nzr5Fx-Zl56_zkdNTQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHYAXNh69c8&list=OLAK5uy_nnIlbdcZ5m_PS03nzr5Fx-Zl56_zkdNTQ Download from HotLink https://www.keeplinks.org/p72/65315e8d1256f
5. Blur - Blur [1997] (2014) [96kHz/24bit] Country: UK Genre: Indie Rock, Alt. Rock, Britpop Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 56:53 Full Size: 1.22 GB The Great Escape, for all of its many virtues, painted Blur into a corner and there was only one way out -- to abandon the Britpop that they had instigated by bringing the weird strands that always floated through their music to the surface. Blur may superficially appear to be a break from tradition, but it is a logical progression, highlighting the band's rich eclecticism and sense of songcraft. Certainly, they are trying for new sonic territory, bringing in shards of white noise, gurgling electronics, raw guitars, and druggy psychedelia, but these are just extensions of previously hidden elements of Blur's music. What makes it exceptional is how hard the band tries to reinvent itself within its own framework, and the level of which it succeeds. "Beetlebum" runs through the White Album in the space of five minutes; "M.O.R." reinterprets Berlin-era Bowie; "You're So Great," despite the corny title, is affecting lo-fi from Graham Coxon; "Country Sad Ballad Man" is bizarrely affecting, strangled lo-fi psychedelia; "Death of a Party" is an affecting resignation; "On Your Own" is an incredible slice of singalong pop spiked with winding, fluid guitar and synth eruptions; while "Look Inside America" cleverly subverts the traditional Blur song, complete with strings. And "Essex Dogs" is a six-minute slab of free verse and rattling guitar noise. Blur might be self-consciously eclectic, but Blur are at their best when they are trying to live up to their own pretensions, because of Damon Albarn's exceptional sense of songcraft and the band's knack for detailed arrangements that flesh out the songs to their fullest. There might be dark overtones to the record, but the band sounds positively joyous, not only in making noise but wreaking havoc with the expectations of its audience and critics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAXnqjUfal4 Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/d6cb1140-40db-11ed-a2c7-0cc47ac4f47e
