That experience shines through the manufactured gloom on Black Symphony, a live CD/DVD recorded at Rotterdam's Ahoy Arena with a 60-piece orchestra, 20-voice classical choir, circus performers, and enough pyrotechnics to knock the Moon out of orbit. Like any orchestral metal outfit worth its salt, the band kicks things off with an ELO-meets-The Lord of the Rings-inspired "Ouverture" that seamlessly runs into the group's 2005 hit, "Jillian (I'd Give My Heart)," before descending into a set that relies almost entirely on material from 2007's Heart of Everything. Credits About: The eternal fascination with all things Beatle pretty much guarantees an audience for any offering from the group and its respective members, and that will likely be the case with Paul McCartney: The Space Within US, a documentary recorded during his 2005 world tour (and broadcast in truncated form by A&E). Not that it's by any means bad. McCartney and his crack four-piece band are seen performing a variety of Fabs faves, from the delightful trifle that is "I'll Follow the Sun" to the genuine masterpiece that is "For No One" (the latter is a solo job, as are "I Will," "Yesterday," and others); as Apple computer poo-bah Steve Jobs, one of the many talking heads on hand to sing Macca's praises, points out, just hearing these classics played and sung by the guy who wrote (or co-wrote) 'em is a treat, and the great sound and high-definition video certainly don't hurt. On the minus side, the camera spends a lot of time in the audience, capturing their rapturous and often quite touching responses to the music. There are also bits focusing on a Beatles-obsessed family from Columbus, Ohio, all three generations of which are excited, to put it mildly, when Sir Paul pays them a brief visit before going onstage, and on two astronauts on board the International Space Station, for whom McCartney plays "English Tea" (from his 2005 CD Chaos and Creation in the Backyard) through a live feed from his Anaheim, California gig. These tangents may be distracting to fans who just want to watch McCartney and company at work, but considering that this was dubbed "the Us Tour," they should hardly come as a surprise. Same goes for the disparate line-up of celebs and others, ranging from Bill Clinton and various academic types to Tony Bennett and Eddie Vedder, whose comments punctuate (and occasionally interrupt) the music. Bottom line: there are better McCartney concert videos (like Live in Red Square), but this is a Beatle we're talking about here. For many, that will be more than enough. Le oltre due ore in cui si dipana il racconto, del resto, bastano ad introdurre nuovi personaggi, far rispuntare una vecchia conoscenza che ben presto si trasformerà nella più conosciuta nemesi del pipistrello, e liquidare la prima minaccia che Batman deve affrontare in questa nuova serie: l'Enigmista. Episodio 2: Il primo episodio, The Enigma, aveva introdotto (e subito liquidato) l'Enigmista, facendoci intuire, tuttavia, l'esistenza di una coalizione di malviventi intenzionata a controllare la città. La nuova puntata, The Pact, ci farà fare la conoscenza dei membri di questo gruppo, risultando in ogni caso un episodio di raccordo: la sceneggiatura si limita ad introdurre i nuovi personaggi, ma sviluppa la storia in maniera molto marginale, lasciando più dubbi che risposte. Episodio 3: Dopo una riunione inaspettata, Bruce Wayne deve affrontare un nuovo problema dopo i contrasti fra il commissario Gordon e Amanda Waller. L'alter ego di Batman ha infatti il compito di infiltrarsi nel Patto, ma introdursi nel sottosuolo criminale di Gotham potrebbe trasformarsi in qualcosa di estremamente pericoloso. Episodio 4: Il Patto metterà in moto il proprio piano, mentre la copertura di Bruce Wayne è irrimediabilmente saltata e nuove domande affollano la mente dell'Uomo Pipistrello: quand'è che il gruppo si riunirà ? Cosa muove davvero Amanda Waller e l'Agenzia? E infine, come reagirà John Doe alla verità sul suo amico Bruce ? Episodio 5: L’episodio 5 proporrà 2 finali alternativi che ci permetteranno di mutare in meglio la storia di John Doe o di farlo diventare il Joker che tutti noi conosciamo.
