This release follows the RSD Drops 2020 release Cleveland Calling (#2 on the Billboard Blues chart) which was an acoustic session also recorded by WNCR during the same 1972 US tour. Back in September, the band announced, "The recording process is now complete and Michael Hunter will begin mixing in the next few days. As a collection of songs, it sounds very strong. All five of us are very excited about what we've created, and Lucy [Jordache, manager] says 'it surpasses FEAR.' True praise." Six new songs were recorded by Steve Hogarth (lead and backing vocals, keyboards), Steve Rothery (lead and rhythm guitars), Mark Kelly (keyboards), Pete Trewavas (bass, background vocals) and Ian Mosley (drums) for "An Hour Before It's Dark" at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios.
