Michael Mason (Richard Madden), un abile ladro, ruba senza saperlo una borsa che ha al suo interno una bomba. L'ordigno finisce per esplodere in una piazza di Parigi, uccidendo quattro persone. Proprio in quel momento una gang criminale decide di rivendicare l'attentato e minaccia che ce ne saranno degli altri. Questo episodio scatena una serie di azioni violente, generando il caos nella capitale parigina. La Cia comincia a indagare su Mason, sospettato di essere il corriere incaricato di piazzare la bomba. Quando Sean va a prelevarlo dal suo appartamento, Michael cerca di scappare: comincia così un inseguimento sui tetti che finisce con l'arresto del borseggiatore. Durante l'interrogatorio il ladro spiega di non avere nulla a che fare con l'attacco terroristico. Sean gli crede e lo coinvolge nelle indagini per risolvere il caso. The key to Oasis' sound is its inevitability -- they are unwavering in their confidence, which means that even the hardest rockers are slow, steady, and heavy, not fast. And that self-possessed confidence, that belief in their greatness, makes Be Here Now intensely enjoyable, even though it offers no real songwriting breakthroughs. Noel Gallagher remains a remarkably talented synthesist, bringing together disparate strands -- "D'You Know What I Mean" has an N.W.A drum loop, a Zeppelin-esque wall of guitars, electronica gurgles, and lyrical allusions to the Beatles and Dylan -- to create impossibly catchy songs that sound fresh, no matter how many older songs he references. He may be working familiar territory throughout Be Here Now, but it doesn't matter because the craftsmanship is good. "The Girl in the Dirty Shirt" is irresistible pop, and epics like "Magic Pie" and "All Around the World" simply soar, while the rockers "My Big Mouth," "It's Getting Better (Man!!)," and "Be Here Now" attack with a bone-crunching force. Noel is smart enough to balance his classicist tendencies with spacious, open production, filling the album with found sounds, layers of guitars, keyboards, and strings, giving the record its humongous, immediate feel. The sprawling sound and huge melodic hooks would be enough to make Be Here Now a winner, but Liam Gallagher's vocals give the album emotional resonance. Singing better than ever, Liam injects venom into the rockers, but he also delivers the nakedly emotional lyrics of "Don't Go Away" with affecting vulnerability. In the early '70s she insisted on recording live in the studio with her road band. Later, various producers -- from Jerry Ragovoy to Peter Asher, from Don Was to T-Bone Burnett -- assisted in shaping her sound, often with great commercial success: she's sold nearly 20 million records. She's learned from them all. There have been downs, but each was balanced by a rise. In 2012 she ended a seven-year silence with the poignant, powerful Slipstream, co-produced with Joe Henry and released on Redwing, her own label. Dig in Deep was produced by Raitt, with the exception of "You've Changed My Mind, written by Henry specifically for her, and recorded in 2010. She wrote or co-wrote five of its 12 songs. The members of her fantastic road band are again her musical partners. Raitt's signature slide guitar is back out front; it shines throughout the recording. Her earthy singing voice, with just a hint of time's grain, is more disciplined and holds more emotional authority than ever before. It soars through a song collection balanced between rough, rowdy rockers and searing ballads. All of the material, regardless of tempo, underscores her title. The themes in these songs -- loss, betrayal, desire, regret, atonement, loneliness, resolution -- are all resonant. Opener "Unintended Consequence of Love" is a funky NOLA-flavored R&B groover complete with great breaks from drummer Ricky Fataar. The reading of INXS' "Need You Tonight" is more unruly than the original -- and way sexier. Raitt's distorted slide break is nasty, delicious in its aggression. The cover of Los Lobos' "Shakin' Shakin' Shakes" is a roadhouse boogie with teeth as Raitt's slide and George Marinelli's counter leads snake around one another. "I Knew," with its irresistible hook, wise lyrics, and beguiling melody, would have been at home on Nick of Time. Her "What You're Doin' to Me" juxtaposes gospel and blues via Mike Finnigan's Hammond B-3 and Raitt's pumping piano; the lyric is a celebration of unfettered desire. It's hard to believe the swaggering blues-rocker "Gypsy in Me" wasn't written by Raitt -- but one of her many gifts has been interpreting songs in such a way that they become inseparable from her persona. Her own choogling "The Comin' Round Is Going Through" is a scorching political rocker that takes on the one percent and foretells coming karmic consequences. It can communicate on a roadhouse dancefloor as well as in a concert hall. Two ballads, Henry's "You've Changed My Mind" and her own "The Ones We Couldn't Be," portray different kinds of vulnerability to what life extracts as it is being lived. Raitt's voice in both songs -- and indeed throughout Dig in Deep -- expresses unwavering honesty and unqualified acceptance. Opeth - Sorceress (2016) 44.1-24 Country: Sweden Genre: Progressive Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/24 bit] Time: 01:30:16 Full Size: 985.02 MB When Opeth released Heritage in 2011, they had completed the transformation from their death metal origins through progressive death metal in the early 2000s, to full-on prog rock that celebrated their love of Camel, Jethro Tull, ELP, and more. 2014's excellent Pale Communion furthered those notions as frontman and songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt's own vision began to emerge. Sorceress is the third installment in this phase of the band's career, and while considerably different and more exploratory than its precursors, it also references Opeth's earlier efforts like Ghost Reveries and Blackwater Park, but goes further than either in its diversity. Uncharacteristically, Åkerfeldt wrote the album quickly. He enlisted Tom Dalgety as co-producer (who also engineered and mixed) and Opeth recorded it in twelve days at Rockfield Studios in Wales. Sorceress is a madly assorted mixed bag. Åkerfeldt's inspirations this time out may still recall prog sources, but there are heavier ones, too: Black Sabbath and the Ritchie Blackmore/Jon Lord-era of Deep Purple. Opener "Persephone" has a brief nylon-string guitar sketch in waltz time that could have come from folk music antiquity. It gives way to the title track and first single. Joakim Svalberg's knotty organ riff dominates the opening moment before a crushing syncopated guitar riff joins in. This track somewhat recalls the Pale Communion sessions but is far more unhinged. The Geezer Butler-esque bassline and explosive kick drums make it the most accessible thing here -- its instrumental section keeps it firmly in prog terrain, however. "The Wilde Flowers" is a truly wild melange of musical styles. It's simultaneously heavy, hard, and spacy, with B-3, bluesy and squalling metal guitar breaks, and chorale vocals that drift in the center, weighting it as a solidly prog track. The bludgeoning guitar riff, up-mixed, swinging drums, and punishing bassline in "Chrysalis" make it a highlight; it shines with Åkerfeldt's finest vocal performance on the album (he can be notoriously lazy). There are lovely acoustic tracks here, too, such as "Will O' the Wisp," which exists in the space between Pentangle's Basket of Light and Led Zeppelin III. "The Seventh Sojourn" melds East Indian drone with North African modalism and exotic hand percussion; strings and keyboards eclipse an oud-like guitar line. It eventually dissembles, wedding near classical polyphony to subdued pop. "Strange Brew" winds through Peter Gabriel-era Genesis-esque ponderousness before a bluesy guitar line ushers it into thundering King Crimson-esque prog adorned with proto-metal riffs and vamps. "A Fleeting Glance" is a dynamic, multifaceted jam showcasing Åkerfeldt's sophisticated melodic sensibilities while touching on musical terrain from Pink Floyd and Gentle Giant to post-Village Green-era Kinks! "Era" opens with a delicate piano intro but Opeth erupts a minute later in melodic aggression. Åkerfeldt's more confident and individualized songwriting on Sorceress takes it in some dizzying directions. While it goes further musically than their two previous outings, it contains enough of the past to exist in a space that carves out terrain somewhere between Watershed and Heritage. Employing the criteria used during the heyday of MTV Unplugged, the veteran Scots do indeed reimagine their catalog using acoustic instruments, though the amount of manipulation via effects and creative mixing makes for something a bit different. The resulting album is a sort of hybrid of stripped-down arrangements with just enough rock sweetening to reach the back seats. In the case of monster hits like "Alive and Kicking" and "Don't You (Forget About Me)," this approach feels a bit underwhelming and bland. While these renditions aren't necessarily bad, it does seem like Simple Minds missed out on an opportunity to dramatically shake up their repertoire in any number of possible directions, but instead settled for simply swapping out the electric guitars and synths with acoustic guitar and piano. Inoltre la presenza della X-Ray Camera riesce a donare spettacolarità ad ogni singola mossa. Parecchia enfasi viene data anche sull'interattività con gli scenari: è possibile dunque utilizzare determinati oggetti come piattaforme per sfuggire agli attacchi dell'avversario, ma anche raccoglierne altri per scagliarli verso il nemico e provocare danni.
