Bo e Luke Duke sono due cugini che vivono insieme al loro zio Jesse e alla loro attraente cugina Daisy in una fattoria nella contea di Hazzard. Oltre a lavorare nella fattoria di famiglia, i due cugini si mettono spesso nei guai con lo sceriffo Rosco P. Coltrane, guidando in maniera spericolata la loro "Generale Lee", una Dodge Charger arancione del 1969. Il commissario locale, il corrotto e cinico Boss Hogg, che nutre una particolare antipatia per i Dukes, coglie la prima occasione offertasi per sfrattarli dalla loro proprietà. Bo e Luke decidono di concorrere al rally annuale di Hazzard, allo scopo di vincere il cospicuo premio che permetterà loro di ripagare le riparazione del Generale Lee a Cooter. Il piano di Boss consiste nell'ottenere una concessione mineraria e fare di Hazzard una grossa cava di carbone. La storia di RIN, dei suoi fratelli e del loro Creatore, il Narratore di Storie, è stata ispirata dal noto antico mito su Crono e il suo conflitto con i suoi figli. Tocca anche il passaggio generale degli dei che devono essere sostituiti da nuovi dei. I miti della creazione sembravano adattarsi perfettamente alla fiaba oscura di Metroidvania - nessuna traccia di uomo, ma l'importanza della magia.
