2. Werewolf Jones - Rot Away (2022) 96-24 Country: USA Genre: Rock, Punk Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 35:11 Full Size: 734.2 MB "Sophomore album from Detroit's grittiest punkers! This album sees the band evolving from nihilistic scum punk toward a more refined post-punk garage-rock sound that only a band from a decimated rust-belt town like Detroit could offer! If there is such a thing as Michigan punk, it's Werewolf Jones. Musically, the band falls perfectly in line with the Detroit lineage of punk that starts with the noisy psychedelics of Destroy All Monsters, continues with the hardcore rock of Negative Approach, and meanders into the experimental territory." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koXh1uEcC7I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UarRfqUy2Z8 Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/x5shdpnz3cpg/Werewolf.Jones.-.Rot.Away.2022.96-24.rar
3. Garbage - Version 2.0 (20th Anniversary Deluxe) (Remastered) (2018) [96kHz/24bit] Country: USA Genre: Alternative Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24bit] Time: 01:23:58 Full Size: 1.9 GB Unveiling the new model of a machine that made its debut three years prior, alternative rock outfit Garbage polished the raw grind of their hazy first album with the sparkling digital sheen of 1998 sophomore effort Version 2.0. Emerging from the eerie trip-hop and bleak grunge of the critically acclaimed, multi-platinum Garbage, the quartet expanded their vision, going into overdrive with a futuristic sound that blended their inspirations both classic (the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and the Pretenders) and contemporary (Björk, Portishead, and the Prodigy). While Garbage retained the sleaze and effortless cool of their debut -- hinted on early tracks "As Heaven Is Wide" and "A Stroke of Luck" -- they infused Version 2.0 with deeper electronic layering, improved hooks, and an intimate lyrical focus courtesy of iconic vocalist Shirley Manson, who seized her place as the face and voice of the band with authority and confidence. On the propulsive "When I Grow Up" and the bittersweet "Special," Garbage took cues from '60s girl groups with "sha-la-la"s and stacked vocal harmonies, grounding them with a delivery inspired by Chrissie Hynde. Elsewhere, the hard techno edges of Curve and Björk cut through the frustrated "Dumb" and the lusty "Sleep Together," while Depeche Mode's Wild West years received tribute on the stomping "Wicked Ways." Beyond the blistering hit singles "I Think I'm Paranoid" and "Push It," Version 2.0 is also home to Garbage's most tender and heartbreaking moments, from the pensive "Medication" to the trip-hop-indebted "The Trick Is to Keep Breathing" and "You Look So Fine." Balanced and taut, Version 2.0 is a greatest-hits collection packaged as a regular album, not only a peak in Garbage's catalog, but one of the definitive releases of the late '90s. © Neil Z. 4. Echo & The Bunnymen - Ocean Rain 1984 (2022) 96-24 Country: UK Genre: Alternative Rock, New Wave, Post-punk Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 37:06 Full Size: 784.89 MB Amidst the great and eclectic new wave family at the dawn of the 1980s, Echo & the Bunnymen imposed their own voice, which was different from those of the Cure, U2, Simple Minds or the Psychedelic Furs. It was a uniqueness which was in part due to the tortured voice of charismatic crooner Ian McCulloch. After a few fairly sombre first albums, the Bunnymen gradually gave in to a desire for big melodies and richer instrumentation. Ocean Rain is the height of this new turn. Throughout this fourth album, which came out in spring 1984, the ethereal rock of the Liverpool quartet owes as much to the grandiloquence of the great Scott Walker as to the poetry of the Doors or the Byrds, or the torment of Joy Division. Thanks to its mega-slick production and smooth arrangements, the talents of composer McCulloch and the impressionism of Will Sergeant's guitars are magnified all the more. The lyricism of Ocean Rain is, above all, never hackneyed. Draped in tasteful violins, the record reaches its zenith with The Killing Moon, a long and crepuscular ballad, one for putting on repeat. © Marc Zisman/Qobuz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ_QRK_iWrk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_AsT8Ney4A Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/dd92ac95-772a-11ed-a2c7-0cc47ac4f47e

10. Loreena McKennitt - To Drive the Cold Winter Away (1987) [2014] 96-24 Country: Canada Genre: Celtic,World,New Age Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 45:29 Full Size: 927.53 MB Recorded in various halls and abbeys in Ireland, and completed in the Church of Our Lady in Guelph, Ontario, harpist/arranger/vocalist Loreena McKennitt's first foray into the crowded field of holiday music -- she would go on to release an EP called Winter Garden in 1995 -- is steeped in old-world atmosphere. To Drive the Cold Winter Away celebrates the winter solstice through eight traditional English, Scottish, and Irish carols and ballads and two Mckennitt originals. The artist's reverence for her source material is moving, and her meticulous yet simple arrangements help tracks such as "The Wexford Carol," "The Kings," and "Let Us the Infant Greet" resonate with all of the grace and piousness that the lyrics and poems strive for. McKennitt has succeeded in making a beautiful, haunting, and ambitious yuletide song cycle that despite taking itself a little too seriously, ranks among her finest. © James Christopher Monger /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfXKEySv_wA Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/a52290e0-6c0c-11ed-a2c7-0cc47ac4f47e
11. Frank Zappa - The Grand Wazoo 1972 (2022) 96-24 Country: USA Genre: Jazz Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 36:59 Full Size: 843.33 MB "Waka-Jawaka" and "The grand wazoo" were recorded during the same sessions. For "Waka/Jawaka" the set-up of the band is mostly like a smaller jazz combo. That this album can occasionally sound as a big band nevertheless is due to the frequent overdubbing. Sal Marquez for instance gets credited for "many trumpets" during "Big swifty". "The grand wazoo" can be more truly using a big band, a band with which Zappa also made a short tour. In full the band ultimately involved twenty members. Both 1972 jazz albums have extended solos as well as large composed sections. Several blocks are relatively stable in their use of keys. More like "King Kong" than the modernistic "Uncle Meat main title" and the "It must be a camel" examples from the preceding sections. "For Calvin" on the other hand is very versatile. Despite of the quality of these albums, Zappa has not become well known as a jazz arranger. "Like its immediate predecessor, Waka/Jawaka, The Grand Wazoo was a largely instrumental jazz rock album recorded during Frank Zappa's convalescence from injuries sustained after being pushed off a concert stage. While Zappa contributes some guitar solos and occasional vocals, the focus is more on his skills as a composer and arranger. Most of the five selections supposedly form a musical representation of a story told in the liner notes about two warring musical factions, but the bottom line is that, overall, the compositions here are more memorably melodic and consistently engaging than Waka/Jawaka. The instrumentation is somewhat unique in the Zappa catalog as well, with the band more of a chamber jazz orchestra than a compact rock unit; over 20 musicians and vocalists contribute to the record. While Hot Rats is still the peak of Zappa's jazz-rock fusion efforts, The Grand Wazoo comes close, and it's essential for anyone interested in Zappa's instrumental works." 12. Frank Zappa - Waka / Jawaka [1972] (2022) [96kHz/24bit] Country: USA Genre: Jazz Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 36:09 Full Size: 835.77 MB When Frank Zappa found himself stuck in a wheelchair for most of the year 1972 (after a "fan" pushed him off the stage in December of the previous year), he relieved his band (including singers Flo & Eddie) of its duties and turned to studio work. One of the first things he tried was to write jazz fusion music scored for wider instrumentation than an average rock band. Waka/Jawaka was conceived in parallel to The Grand Wazoo, but with fewer players. The album, released in July 1972, is comprised of two extended instrumental pieces and two shorter songs. "Big Swifty," a theme-and-solos showcase, would become a live favorite, but the highlight came in the form of the orgiastic title track, recorded with ex-Mothers of Invention keyboardist Don Preston, trumpeter Sal Marquez, trombonists Bill Byers and Ken Shroyer, saxophonist Mike Altschul, bassist Erroneous, and drummer Aynsley Dunbar. The songs, never performed live, feel like filler material. Waka/Jawaka was Zappa's second solo album and is occasionally referred to as "Hot Rats II" (the handles of the faucets on the cover artwork show the words "hot" and "rats" instead of "hot" and "cold"). His writing and recording technique had matured a lot in very little time. The dirty blues jamming of the 1969 LP was replaced by clean, crisp jazz improvisations -- no need to say this was also an abrupt change in style from the Mothers' 1969-1971 incarnation. But this album was only transitional: Zappa's big-band stylings would really flourish in The Grand Wazoo a few months later. © François Couture /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxVmRg4faWM Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/f4f6acaa-abdf-11eb-a971-0cc47ac4f47e
13. Frank Zappa - Waka-Wazoo (2022) 96-24 Country: USA Genre: Avant-Prog, Jazz fusion, Progressive rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 04:20:09 Full Size: 5.63 GB During the aftermath of being pushed off the stage at the Rainbow Theatre in London, England, FZ found himself recuperating for months in his home in Laurel Canyon. Although he was confined to a wheelchair, his work ethic could not be tamed. During this time, he managed, among other things, to assemble an ensemble that quenched his thirst and desire to work with a large "Electric Orchestra." Ultimately, a 20-piece group was contracted, along with recording sessions and an 8-city tour. Shortly thereafter, a scaled down 10-piece configuration, now known as the "Petit Wazoo" toured for almost two months. After all was said and done, FZ finished the experiment with two albums in the can, Waka/Jawaka & The Grand Wazoo, plus two tours and an archive of show masters in his Vault. It was a monumental feat for a guy with a cast on his leg and a conductor's baton in his hand. The Waka/Wazoo box set features a complete historical run-down of the entire project, featuring alternate takes of almost every composition recorded during the album sessions, along with Vault mix session outtakes and oddities. Also included is the full final show of the 10-piece tour, recorded at the famous Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco on December 15, 1972. The Blu-ray Audio disc features both albums with brand-new, first-time-ever Atmos and 5.1 mixes from the original multi-tracks and the 96kHz 24-bit high-resolution stereo remasters. Finally, during the album recording sessions at Paramount Studios, FZ worked with George Duke on some of Duke's solo material. These demos were produced by Zappa, who also played guitar. Although George would go on to re-record the compositions for his own albums, the versions with FZ have never been officially issued until now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7vsNugt55g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbTbiqWY_Qo Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/f4f6acaa-abdf-11eb-a971-0cc47ac4f47e

Big Big Train - Grand Tour (2019) 96-24 Country: UK Genre: Progressive Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 01:14:20 Full Size: 1.4 GB Grand Tour is the 12th studio album from British progressive rock outfit Big Big Train. With their previous releases focusing on the English landscape and the people who worked it, they decided to shift their attention to the original Grand Tour of Europe that many 17th and 18th century aristocrats took. 15. Echo & The Bunnymen - Porcupine 1983 (2022) 96-24 Country: UK Genre: Alternative Rock, Neo-psychedelia, Post-punk Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 45:27 Full Size: 978.48 MB Porcupine is the third studio album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen. First released on 4 February 1983, it became the band's highest-charting release when it reached number two on the UK Albums Chart despite initially receiving poor reviews. It also reached number 137 on the American Billboard 200, number 85 on the Canadian RPM 100 Albums and number 24 on the Swedish chart. In 1984, the album was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry. The album includes the singles "The Back of Love" and "The Cutter." Porcupine was recorded at Trident Studios in London, Rockfield Studios in South Wales and Amazon Studios in Liverpool. It was produced by Ian Broudie (credited as "Kingbird"), who had co-produced the band's first album, 1980's Crocodiles, and their second single, "Rescue." After being rejected by the band's label, the album was rerecorded with Shankar providing strings. It was originally released as an LP in 1983 before being reissued on CD in 1988. The album was reissued as a remastered and expanded CD in 2003, along with the other four of the band's first five studio albums. A VHS video called Porcupine - An Atlas Adventure was also released, containing six promotional videos of tracks from the album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUdyUqhivug https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSfGEaxSdEQ&list=OLAK5uy_nDuEZ86TMviYaHlqmXj8pyMdE-nHmvBkk&index=3 Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/dd92ac95-772a-11ed-a2c7-0cc47ac4f47e
16. Loreena McKennitt - An Ancient Muse (2006) 96-24 Country: Canada Genre: Celtic, World, New Age Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24bit] Time: 54:21 Full Size: 1.11 GB Canadian Celtic/new age/worldbeat architect Loreena McKennitt may be an odd choice for the legendary jazz label that released benchmark albums from Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, but Verve may have been moved by the undeniably talented harpist/composer/vocalist's large collection of globe-spanning gold, platinum, and multi-platinum sales awards. McKennitt's records (this is her first set of new material since 1997's Book of Secrets) tend to play like independent soundtracks to National Geographic documentaries -- kind of like a more ornate, expensive version of Dead Can Dance. An Ancient Muse may break little new ground for McKennitt, but it won't disappoint longtime fans. Her fascination with Celtic, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern instrumentation (hurdy-gurdy, nyckelharpa, kanoun, uilleann pipes, bouzouki, lyra, and oud) and her preoccupation with mythology and poetry have won her great favor with the new age/adult alternative crowd, and rightly so, as Irish-tinged ballads such as "Never-Ending Road (Amhrán Duit)" and "Penelope's Song" are just Enya songs with more instruments than vocal tracks. Her penchant for quality instrumentals, in this case "Kecharitomene" and "Sacred Shabbat," sets her apart from the more stereotypical new age artists like David Arkenstone and John Tesh, and her extensive, diary-like liner notes invoke ancient archeological sites and obscure Rumi poetry without coming off as too self-absorbed. This CD was nominated for a Grammy award in 2007 for Best Contemporary World Music Album. © James Christopher Monger /TiVo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUqwteJjpto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtZ47IF18H0&list=OLAK5uy_lDKAaiNC1-M5CmeBJTbr3bZTvEqGady5w&index=6 Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/a52290e0-6c0c-11ed-a2c7-0cc47ac4f47e

Well, the fevers of the night / They burn an unloved woman / Yeah, those red-hot flames / Try to push old love aside." © Laut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sO_o2TwyM4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfjon-ZTqzU Download from HotLink https://hotlink.cc/folder/af74e74b-731d-11ed-a2c7-0cc47ac4f47e
24. Echo & The Bunnymen - Crocodiles 1980 (2022) 96-24 Country: UK Genre: Alternative Rock, New Wave, Post-punk Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [96kHz/24 bit] Time: 32:53 Full Size: 725.68 MB Echo & The Bunnymen formed in Liverpool back in 1978, with Ian McCulloch on vocals, Will Sergeant on guitar, bassist Les Pattinson with Pete De Freitas on drums. Their first release came in the form of the single The Pictures On My Wall, with the B-side Read It In Books. Both tracks would appear on their debut album Crocodiles, released in 1980. Released amid the growing wave of post-punk, Crocodiles cemented the band amongst the best around, with the NME at the time describing it as "probably the best album this year by a British band" and featuring amongst many greatest ever debut album lists. The lead single from the album, Rescue, was produced by Ian Broudie who would later produce more Echo & The Bunnymen material, as well as later forming The Lightning Seeds in 1989. The single would enter the UK charts, with the album breaking into the top 20 and going on to be certified Gold. The original cover was shot by Brian Griffin near Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The atmospheric, moody aura of the sleeve sets the tone for quintessential post-punk. "Inspired by psychedelia, sure. Bit of Jim Morrison in the vocals? OK, it's there. But for all the references and connections that can be drawn (and they can), one listen to Echo's brilliant, often harrowing debut album and it's clear when a unique, special band presents itself. Beginning with the dramatic, building climb of "Going Up," Crocodiles at once showcases four individual players sure of their own gifts and their ability to bring it all together to make things more than the sum of their parts. Will Sergeant in particular is a revelation -- arguably only Johnny Marr and Vini Reilly were better English guitarists from the '80s, eschewing typical guitar-wank overload showboating in favor of delicacy, shades, and inventive, unexpected melodies. More than many before or since, he plays the electric guitar as just that, electric not acoustic, dedicated to finding out what can be done with it while never using it as an excuse to bend frets. His highlights are legion, whether it's the hooky opening chime of "Rescue" or the exchanges of sound and silence in "Happy Death Men." Meanwhile, the Pattinson/De Freitas rhythm section stakes its own claim for greatness, the former's bass driving yet almost seductive, the latter's percussion constantly shifting rhythms and styles while never leaving the central beat of the song to die. "Pride" is one standout moment of many, Pattinson's high notes and De Freitas' interjections on what sound like chimes or blocks are inspired touches. Then there's McCulloch himself, and while the imagery can be cryptic, the delivery soars, even while his semi-wail conjures up, as on the nervy, edgy picture of addiction "Villiers Terrace," "People rolling round on the carpet/Mixing up the medicine." Brisk, wasting not a note, and burning with barely controlled energy, Crocodiles remains a deserved classic."
