Pom poko è la favola dello scontro tra la moderna urbanizzazione e la natura. Senbee Norimaki, noto come "Dr. Slump", è un inventore scapolo di 28 anni amante delle donne che abita nel Villaggio Pinguino, situato sull'isola di Gengoro; crea invenzioni più o meno utili ma comunque bizzarre, fra le quali la stessa Arale, un robot dall'aspetto di bambina. Arale è indistinguibile da una persona vera, al punto di soffrire persino di miopia, e per questo Senbee la spaccia per la sua sorellina tredicenne. Il film inizia con il recupero nell'orbita terrestre di un sarcofago a forma di croce contenente l'unità Eva-01 nel quale Shinji Ikari è disciolto in seguito al Near Third Impact, effettuato da Asuka a bordo dell'Eva-02 e supportata da Mari a bordo della rispettiva unità Eva-08 per conto della Wille. Durante il recupero Asuka Langley viene attaccata dal sistema di difesa della Nerv che consiste in un angelo creato appositamente per difendere lo Eva-01, trovatasi in difficoltà chiede disperatamente l'intervento di Shinji causando inaspettatamente la momentanea attivazione dell'unità Eva-01 che elimina l'angelo salvandola.

Attacco a Mumbai è ambientato nel novembre 2008, quando alcuni jihadisti del Pakistan mettono in atto una serie di attacchi terroristici a Mumbai, facendo precipitare nel caos la città più popolosa dell’India. Durante i tre giorni dell’assedio, gli uomini armati sequestrano il leggendario Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, tenendo prigionieri all’interno oltre 500 ospiti e dipendenti. Il film si concentra sugli eventi accaduti nel leggendario hotel, considerato l’emblema del progresso del paese e del suo variegato patrimonio culturale. Nel pieno dell’attacco, persone provenienti da diversi paesi, culture, religioni e classi sociali dovranno trovare il modo di reagire e far fronte ai continui pericoli.
