    SystemRescueCd v11.01 x64 - ENG SystemRescueCD è un insieme di utilità per la gestione delle partizioni del disco fisso e per la creazione di immagini di singole partizioni o di intere unità . Si tratta di una soluzione indipendente dagli eventuali sistemi operativi installati sul disco fisso: SystemRescueCD viene infatti distribuito sotto forma di file ISO. A partire da tale file, servendosi di un normale masterizzatore e di un software come Nero o CDBurnerXP Pro (gratuito), è possibile creare un CD ROM avviabile: ciò significa che lasciando inserito tale supporto nel lettore CD all'accensione del personal computer, si avrà accesso ad un ambiente nuovo che consente di effettuare molteplici operazioni di manutenzione sui dischi di sistema. SystemRescueCD è basato sul kernel Linux; in particolare il team che ne ha curato lo sviluppo (guidato dal francese Francois Dupoux) ha utilizzato il cuore della distribuzione Gentoo Linux. Per la gestione e la modifica delle impostazioni delle varie partizioni del disco, SystemRescueCD integra i tool GNU Parted e QTParted, per la creazione ed il ripristino di immagini del disco o di singole partizioni adotta l'utility PartImage mentre per le operazioni di backup e ripristino della tabella delle partizioni, viene proposto l'uso di Sfdisk. Oltre a questi strumenti, SystemRescueCD fornisce anche un set di utilità aggiuntive per la formattazione del disco fisso ed il ridimensionamento delle partizioni presenti. Interessante anche la possibilità di collegarsi alla rete Internet dallo stesso CD utilizzando modem ADSL o la rete LAN. There is one notable difference, namely the departure of John Langley on drums. Replacement Paul Mulreany does a fine enough job, at points offering up some fairly tight (as opposed to stiff) percussion; the band otherwise chugs along as before. Langley's lyrical sense and delivery still does the business, his elaborate wordplay and rich metaphors avoiding preciousness on the one hand and doggerel on the other. Recording the album mostly in L.A. didn't seem to affect them any either; while producer Larry Hirsch doesn't do much different from what Gil Norton did on Swagger, he keeps everything sounding just fine. A running U.K. music press joke at the time had the group appearing à la superheroes in sticky situations and putting on "spontaneous rock & roll concerts" to save the day. It may seem odd, but the sound of the Aeroplanes on Beatsongs, just loose enough on the one hand and excellently performed on the other, actually fits that description rather well. Songs like "My Hurricane," which manages to sound both quite intense and nicely relaxed at the same time, or the surprising but quite successful cover of Paul Simon's "The Boy in the Bubble" add to the overall quality. "Huh" kicks everything off with understated fire, and with Langley in fine vocal form as always. Many other fine high points are the slow, measured, lovely chiming and pace of "Cardboard Box," and "Jack Leaves/Back Spring" and its lovely, rustic atmosphere.     EMDB Eric's Movie Database 5.29 - ITA EMDB ti aiuta ad organizzare la tua collezione di film digitali. Crea la tua videoteca virtuale in pochi click e classifica le pellicole in mille modi differenti. La sua caratteristica più importante è quella di poter scaricare tutte le informazioni relative ad un film dal database del sito IMDB. Vi basterà inserire il titolo del vostro film e cliccare sul search per ottenere tutte le informazioni e copiarle sul vostro database personale; in alternativa potrete compilare manualmente i vari campi personalizzandoli a vostro piacimento. Tra le altre caratteristiche: la possibilità di vedere l'intero database creato in formato testo o pagina web e un potentissimo motore di ricerca che vi consentirà di trovare facilmente il film cercato. Accumulare film sul computer porta spesso ad accatastare titoli uno sull'altro, proprio come una pila di VHS o di DVD. Senza contare poi che spesso i film in formato digitale portano nomi distorti o preceduti da parentesi e codici strani. Il risultato è che col passare del tempo diventa sempre più difficile ritrovare la pellicola che ci interessa. EMDB è una efficace soluzione per rimattere un pò di ordine nel tuo hard disk. EMDB è molto intuitivo: clicca sul pulsante Aggiungi, inserisci il titolo del film e il programma effettua subito una ricerca sul database di IMDb, la bibbia online del cinefilo. Automaticamente verranno inseriti tutti i dati del film in questione, dal regista al cast passando per il genere e la trama. Non ti resta che inserire manualmente il percorso del film e ogni volta che vorrai vederlo potrai aprirlo direttamente da EMDB. L'applicazione legge molti tipi di file video e dispone anche di altre funzioni più avanzate, come la possibilità di esportare la tua collezione in TXT, CSV o HTML. L'interfaccia di EMDB è gradevole, ci ricorda Delicious Library per Mac o la web app aNobii: la riproduzione di uno scaffale di legno ti farà apparire le icone dei titoli come se si trovassero sulla libreria di casa, con l'unica differenza che qui non occupano uno spazio fisico.
