La storia è ambientata in una linea temporale alternativa della Terra nel 2060. Le conseguenze di un incidente militare che ha provocato una malattia diffusa, così come la recente conclusione di una guerra nucleare, ha spopolato in modo massiccio il pianeta, ha reso gran parte della superficie inabitabile e ridotto le nazioni un tempo all'ombra di loro stesse. Gli androidi usati per il lavoro e il combattimento sono diventati un aspetto importante della vita, e androidi facilmente replicabili e usa e getta noti come Tactical Dolls (T-Dolls) sono usati da compagnie militari private in prima linea in numerose guerre. Nel gioco, il giocatore assume il ruolo di un nuovo comandante in un PMC, comandando alle T-Dolls di combattere contro la nuova minaccia AI.
