Dopo essersi diplomata al liceo, Natsuko Hirose inizia la sua carriera come animatrice. Il suo talento sboccia rapidamente e in men che non si dica debutta come regista. Il suo primo anime diventa un enorme successo, scatenando un fenomeno sociale e guadagnandosi il riconoscimento di regista geniale emergente. Il suo prossimo progetto è destinato a essere un film commedia romantica incentrato sul primo amore! Tuttavia, non essendo mai stata innamorata, Natsuko fa fatica a comprendere il concetto di primo amore e, di conseguenza, non è in grado di creare lo storyboard, causando l'arresto della produzione del film.
