In un tempo lontano, quando gli uomini erano dominati dalla paura, guidati dagli spiriti e ispirati dalle profezie, viveva una pacifica tribù di cacciatori. Con l'arrivo dei mammuth si apriva per loro la stagione della caccia, della prosperità e dell'amore. Quel sentimento smisurato che unisce il giovane D'Leh all'orfana Evolet. Una passione interrotta dall'irruzione di "demoni" a cavallo: feroci predatori e mercanti di schiavi a servizio di un dio avido e troppo umano. Rapita la bella Evolet, D'Leh si spingerà fino ai confini del mondo per liberare la sua fanciulla e gli uomini vessati dalle superstizioni di un tiranno inviso e invisibile. Nel corso del viaggio il cacciatore diventerà un guerriero e il guerriero una leggenda.
