La giovane kitsune Yuzu viene assunta come nuova apprendista. Inizialmente la piccola volpe trova non poche difficoltà ad ambientarsi, si dimostra imbranata e incapace di compiere il suo lavoro, e viene ripresa più volte dalla sua compagna di stanza Satsuki; ma grazie alle ramanzine delle colleghe e alle avventure che vive attraverso i clienti, Yuzu matura fino a diventare un perno della locanda Konohana.
