Simon Variot è un giovane e brillante studente di architettura molto sfortunato. Quella che si preannunciava come una piacevole avventura per il giovane Caleb, l'incontro con l'affascinante quanto misteriosa Mae, si rivela ben presto un terribile incubo: Mae è infatti una vampira che vive insieme a una strana famiglia sopra un camper a bordo del quale viaggia attraverso l'America. Caleb viene rapito e parzialmente trasformato in vampiro ed è costretto ad assistere a una serie di orrori dai quali riuscirà a sfuggire grazie all'amore di Mae.
