Ispirato a Viaggio allucinante (1966), classico della science fiction biologica, il film permette agli scanzonati B. e P. Farrelly di applicare la loro buffoneria politicamente scorretta all'anatomia umana: la "City of Frank" riproduce gli schemi frenetici del mondo esterno in cadenze parodistiche e qua e là satiriche. Governato da Piet Kroon e Tom Sito, il versante dell'animazione funziona, ma quello della live-action è di una piattezza opaca e atona con B. Murray ridotto a parassita ingombrante rispetto a Osmosis Jones and Co. Svogliatamente distribuito dalla Warner, non ha trovato il pubblico nemmeno in Italia.

Sakura Hibiki è una normale ragazza che frequenta il liceo, ed ha un appetito vorace. Rendendosi conto che i suoi vestiti vanno sempre più stretti decide di iscriversi alla Silverman-Gym. Lì incontra una ragazza di nome Souryuuin Akemi, la Presidente del Consiglio Studentesco della sua scuola, che ama gli uomini muscolosi e cerca di convincerla a iscriversi in palestra. Hibiki è molto titubante ma, per fortuna un bellissimo allenatore di nome Machio appare e inconsapevolmente la convince ad iscriversi, iniziando così una ricerca per un ottenere un ottimo corpo.

TRAMA
Gli irresponsabili genitori del 14enne Iruma Suzuki lo hanno venduto ad un demone in cambio di denaro. Con sua sorpresa, tuttavia, il vecchio demone vuole soltanto che Iruma diventi il suo "nipotino"! La Terra risulta devastata da una catastrofe, denominata la "Grande Catastrofe", avvenuta undici anni prima, che distrusse una parte significativa del mondo ed uccise numerosi abitanti. La catastrofe fu accompagnata dallo scioglimento dei ghiacciai che ha riportato alla superficie Atlandia e con essa i suoi abitanti, gli Angeli delle Tenebre, una specie alata che era rimasta latente per 12.000 anni. Lo scopo di queste creature è quello di rapire gli esseri umani, chiamati con disprezzo Esseri senza ali, al fine di estrarne il prana, la loro bioenergia, indispensabile per la sopravvivenza ed il sostentamento degli Angeli delle Tenebre. La popolazione mondiale si trova così a dover subire continui attacchi da parte delle Bestie mietitrici, ovvero enormi esseri capaci di catturare con estrema facilità gli esseri umani. Queste particolari macchine sono spesso accompagnate da giganteschi robot, chiamati Soldati Cherubim. Contro questo potente nemico le armi convenzionali sono del tutto inefficaci, spetta quindi alla DEAVA, sotto il comando di Gen Fudo, proteggere l'umanità intera. La DEAVA grazie all'utilizzo degli ultimi ritrovati tecnologici e, soprattutto, alle Vector Machine ritrovate sul fondo dell'oceano, funge così da ultimo baluardo degli uomini. I tre Vector, chiamati Vector Luna, Vector Mars e Vector Sol, sono in grado di unirsi dando origine all'Angelo Meccanico Aquarion, un gigantesco robot. I Vector possono essere pilotati solo da esseri umani speciali detti Element, dotati di poteri paranormali e con l'innata capacità di resistere ai poteri ipnotici che gli Angeli delle Tenebre esercitano sulle vittime al fine di catturarle facilmente.

In California, a fine '800, il grosso cane Buck vive nella fattoria di un giudice. Rapito per essere venduto come cane da slitta per i cercatori d'oro del Klondike, Buck si ritrova in Alaska, rinchiuso in gabbia e addestrato alla legge del bastone. Acquistato da un francese che consegna la posta negli avamposti dei cercatori d'oro, entra in una muta di cani e in poco tempo, coraggioso e possente, ne diventa il capo. Quando però il postino perde il lavoro, viene acquistato da un feroce viaggiatore in cerca di fortuna. Salvato dall'eremita John Thornton, Buck trova finalmente un amico con il quale spingersi nelle profondità delle terre selvagge. TRAMA
Nella storia, un'enorme voragine chiamata "l'Abisso" è l'ultimo posto inesplorato del mondo. Nelle sue profondità si nascondono strane creature, insieme a preziose reliquie del passato, che affascinano gli esseri umani che si spingono a esplorarlo, soprannominati "Cave Raiders". Una bambina orfana di nome Rico vive nella città di Ōsu sull'orlo dell'Abisso, e sogna di diventare una Cave Raider come sua madre, per scoprire i segreti del sistema di caverne. Un giorno, Rico inizia a esplorare la voragine e scopre un robot dalle sembianze di un bambino.

Nell'adorabile e peculiare cittadina di Uglyville si celebra la bruttezza e la stranezza. Essere normali o belli è un difetto e più si è bizzarri più si è amati. Qui vive la vivace bambola Moxy con le sue amiche, sempre pronte a divertirsi e a godersi la vita. La curiosità spinge però Moxy a chiedersi cosa ci sia oltre la montagna che circonda la cittadina. Spingendosi oltre con le sue amiche, scopre un altro regno, un posto in cui bellissime bambole vengono addestrate con rigidi protocolli per essere "adottate" nel mondo degli umani. Moxy e le sue amiche finiranno presto per scoprire che non sempre essere perfetti è sinonimo di felicità.
